I recently learned about edPuzzle, a website that allows teachers to create interactive videos with embed questions or comments for students to answer. Students can watch these videos in class or at home and answer the questions reflecting on different components of the videos. These videos are great for checking for understanding, assessing students' views on the topics in the videos, and as a great way to incorporate technology into the learning environment in really meaningful ways. I showed my students the education in prison edPuzzle (below) in class during a non-fiction news unit that we completed. We unfortunately did not have access to chromebooks, buts students completed my questions on paper and discussed them in groups.
